Gloria
Marietta Darensburg Gant quietly departed this world and moved into her
spiritual home on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Gloria was the youngest of
five children born to the union of the late Arnold and Alma Darensburg.
She married Leon in 1943 and experienced many years of happiness.
Gloria devoted her time not only to her family but to her church,
hospitals and a host of friends. She was one who couldn't say no to
anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Alma Darensburg, her
brothers Arnold E. and Logan Darensburg, her sisters Odile Deslonde and
Wylene Woods.
She leaves to mourn her passing, and rejoice in her memories, her loving
and devoted husband Leon; her children Wanda J. Edwards of East Lansing,
Michigan; Leon II (Sharon) and Stephanie Funderburk of Winston-Salem,
North Carolina; her grandchildren Donna, Tasha, Lauren, Bree and
Chardonnay; a host of relatives, in-laws, nieces nephews friends and her
companion and protector, "Lady."
Gloria will always be remembered for her gracious manner and her sense
of fashion. She was loved by all who met her. She lived life to the
fullest and enjoyed all of its blessings.
Gloria, May you rest in Peace. We'll always love you.
